Dr. Alf Hillen is a tax consultant at dhpg. With over 20 years of restructuring experience, he is a qualified advisor to dhpg clients when it comes to restructuring issues, including turnaround management and corporate realignment after the crisis. In addition, Dr. Hillen also advises on judicial restructuring proceedings in the context of insolvency. Thanks to his many years of experience from numerous restructuring mandates and his specific industry knowledge (e.g. automotive, mechanical engineering, special mechanical engineering, construction industry and IT), he is the right contact person for the preparation and support of restructuring strategies. In addition to his restructuring expertise, Dr. Hillen has skills in the areas of (distressed) M&A, reorganization and insolvency tax law and process management in or through insolvency.
After graduating with a degree in economics from the University of Bonn, Dr. Hillen worked for the Metro Group and for a regional auditing and tax consulting firm. From 2003 to 2007, he completed his doctorate at the Chair of General Business Administration and Management at the University of Rostock. After being appointed as a tax consultant in 2001, further specializations as a consultant for companies in a crisis context followed. Dr. Hillen is also a certified restructuring and reorganization expert, a specialist consultant for restructuring and corporate planning (DStV e.V.) and a certified ESUG consultant. He joined dhpg in 2001 and has been a senior partner since 2011.
