Dr. Ralf Becker

Dr. Ralf Becker is a lawyer at dhpg. As a specialist lawyer for inheritance law, insurance law, and banking and capital market law, he offers comprehensive, interdisciplinary advice on legal issues relating to inheritance, assets, and insurance, as well as legal representation if necessary, all from a single source. A particular focus of his work is the execution of wills and the administration of estates. In this regard, Dr. Ralf Becker is regularly appointed by testators, heirs, and probate courts. Insurance often plays a central role, not only in inheritance cases. Dr. Ralf Becker advises and represents clients in matters relating to life insurance and subscription rights, as well as occupational disability, accident, and property insurance. He also has particular expertise in asset-related issues, especially in the context of inheritance and estates, in particular bank balances, securities accounts, and securities assets, disputes over loans, collateral, and guarantees, and the enforcement of claims in the event of incorrect investment advice.
 
Dr. Ralf Becker is a member of the working groups on inheritance law, insurance law, and banking and capital market law in the German Bar Association.

After studying law in Trier, Barcelona, London, and Norwich, Dr. Ralf Becker passed his first state law examination in 1990 and graduated with a Master of Laws from the University of East Anglia in Norwich in 1991. During his legal clerkship in 1992 and 1993, he worked at the German Embassy in Mexico and in the legal department of an internationally active industrial company in Böblingen, among other places. He passed his second state law examination in 1994. In 2001, he received his doctorate with a thesis on “Opinion polls as evidence in civil proceedings.” From 2020 to 2022, Dr. Ralf Becker acquired qualifications as a specialist lawyer for banking and capital market law, inheritance law, and insurance law. Before joining dhpg, Dr. Ralf Becker was a partner at a leading medium-sized law firm in Trier. He has been with dhpg since 2026.
