Dennis Schmidt is a lawyer at dhpg. His practice focuses on the insolvency administration of companies and natural persons as well as restructuring advice. As a certified mediator and member of the Bundesverband Mediation in Restrukturierung und Insolvenz e.V., Dennis Schmidt can look back on a wide range of experience in this field. In addition to his work as a lawyer, Dennis Schmidt regularly publishes on insolvency and insolvency tax law topics.
Dennis Schmidt earned his law degree from the University of Cologne. During this time, he spent several years working at the Cologne Institute for Procedural and Insolvency Law and as a research assistant at a nationwide insolvency administration firm based in Düsseldorf. He completed his legal clerkship in the Cologne Higher Regional Court district at, among other places, the Aachen Insolvency Court and in the restructuring department of a major German law firm. After being admitted to the bar in 2022, Dennis Schmidt initially worked at a law firm in Cologne specializing in insolvency and restructuring law. In 2025, he successfully completed a part-time master’s degree in business law with a focus on tax and corporate law. In April 2026, Dennis Schmidt completed the specialist attorney training course in insolvency and restructuring law. He has been with dhpg since 2024.
